Five persons, including a former village head, were gunned down and their bodies burnt at village Kolahadih in Bihar's Banka district tonight, the police said.
Around 50 assailants raided the village, sprayed a hail of bullets and threw bombs on the vehicles on which former village head Prayag Yadav was travelling with his supporters, the sources said.
Yadav and four others died on the spot.
The assailants later sprayed petrol and kerosene on their bodies and burnt them on the vehicles, the sources said.
Old enmity was stated to be the reason behind the killing.
