Five Naxals, two of whom carrying reward on their heads, were arrested in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, police said today. Police Superintendent of Narayanpur, Mayank Srivastava, said that a police team which was patrolling in the forest near Guttapal village noticed the movement of some Naxals.

The Naxals started running away but police managed to corner them and arrested all five of them, he said. They were alleged to be members of 'Madenar Dalam'. One Laxman was carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 while one Aitu was carrying a reward of Rs 17,000. The names of other three Naxals arrested were given as Rasul Darro, Phul Simh and Somnath.

The SP also informed that the police seized a rifle and live cartridges from them. They were wanted in various cases including killings and attempt to kill, he said.
