Five arrested with heroin worth over Rs 1 crore

Five persons were arrested and heroin worth over Rs one crore seized from them at Lalkua, 65 kms from here, police sources said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, police on Saturday intercepted the car without a number plate and found heroin hidden under the car seat.

All five accused are residents of Gola Gokarn town in Lakhimpur Khiri district in Uttar Pradesh, bordering Nepal.

Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
