Fire at two Ahmedabad banks

A firefighter was injured while trying to douse a fire at the City co-operative Bank near Revdi Bazaar in the wee hours of Tuesday.
A short circuit apparently caused the fire. According to sources, Naresh Hasgaji was trying to douse the fire when a heavy window pane fell on him. Naresh, who sustained severe injuries on his hand, was rushed to the hospital.

Chief fire officer MF Dastoor told DNA, "The firefighter was injured but he has been operated upon." Incidentally, the city saw two incidents of fire in banks on Tuesday.

The City Co-operative Bank reported a fire due to short circuit while another broke out at Dena Bank located above the Khadia police chowky. The second fire was also reportedly caused due to a short circuit in the early hours of Tuesday.

A team of the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) rushed to both the places and managed to prevent the fires from spreading. Sources said that many records and documents of the banks were destroyed in the fire.
