FIR registered against 28 persons in Uttar Pradesh

An FIR was registered against 28 persons including 26 women for allegedly taking pension meant for widows, police said.
    
The FIR was lodged against village head, village panchayat officers and 26 women of village Rasulpur in Bilariyaganj block, they said adding that the matter came to light during district wise verification drive launched on directives of District Magistrate.
    
It is alleged that these women took widow pension by forging their documents with the help of village head and panchayat officer.
    
Police is investigating the matter.
