Father donates only son’s eyes after his death

Tragedy struck Lauva family when their only son, Divyang, 5, who was born 15 years after their marriage died in an accident on Saturday. That hardly deterred his courageous father from breaking down who set an example by donating the eyes of his son.   

Sources added that Divyang was the only son of Lauva and was born after 15 years of marriage. "I wanted my son to remain alive in the eyes of other people, and that's why I have decided to donate his eyes to two different people," Lauva told reporters.

According to sources near the development, Divyang was on his way to school when the cement sheets used to cover the drainage fell on him killing him on the spot. A police source said, "He was taken to the LG Hospital, where doctors declared him dead."

Lauva's family was shocked to hear about the death of their only son and wanted to proceed with legal actions against the culprits responsible for the accident. Sources said that a municipality contractor, Mahiji Parmar, could be held responsible for this.

Police sources have registered a case of accidental death and have initiated investigation.
