Explosives recovered, search for militants continues in J&K

Explosive material was recovered by security forces in Ramban district, while searches were carried out to track down a group of fleeing militants in adjoining Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said here today.
 
On information provided by locals, a joint team of Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF recovered three detonators and one gelatin stick from a field in Batote area of Ramban yesterday, they said, adding, no one was taken into custody in this connection.
 
Reports from Kishtwar district said that security forces have stepped up a search operation to track down a group of four Hizbul Mujahideen militants, including two commanders -Rezwan and Chota Hafeez, who have taken shelter in the forests of Navapachi as per the intercepts.
 
These HM militants had kidnapped two Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers a few days ago but both the teachers had managed to escape from their captivity after security forces launched a search operation in the area, they said.
 
During the search, a jawan of the Territorial Army Manzoor Ahmed Malik received bullet wounds and later succumbed to his injuries, they said.
 
The intensified search operation in the forest area would be continued to track down these militants, they added.
