Expelled BSP leader wanted in murder, dacoity cases

The police here is looking for expelled Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Narendra Singh, who was in the news after he "gifted" Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati a plot of land on the moon.

Singh is evading arrest in 28 cases, including those related to dacoity, murder and attempt to murder, deputy inspector general Kanpur BP Jogdand said.

He said Singh's family members were being interrogated about his whereabouts.

Singh had "gifted" a plot of land on the moon to Mayawati on her birthday on January 15, and had even registered the plot under the 'Registered Claim and Deal for Lunar Property' with the Lunar Republic Society.

He was subsequently expelled from the party for making "unnecessary statements" and indulging in anti-party activities.
