Ex-serviceman die in lightning in Jammu

A former army jawan was killed and a house damaged when lightning struck in Jammu and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Lightning struck a grazing field in Kadytar (Malhar) belt of Billawar tehsil of Kathua district in which 65-year-old ex-serviceman Krishen Chand was killed, police said.

In another incident, a house of a villager was damaged when lightning struck it in Kotha village of border tehsil of R S Pura in Jammu district early today.

No one was, however, injured in the incident, they said.
