Encounter between militants and security forces in J&K

An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Awantipora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir, officials said.

Army and police cordoned off Dadsar village in Awantipora, 30 kms from here, last night following information about the presence of militants in the area, they said.

A gunfight broke out between the militants and the security forces at around 10 AM this morning, they said, adding the operation was still going on when reports last came in.

So far there is no report of any causality on either side, they said.
