Encounter between Maoists and joint forces in Bankura

An encounter broke out between Maoists and the joint security forces today after the ultras detonated two landmines and tried to prevent the forces from resetting a camp in Bhalukchera in the district.
    
Maoists exploded two landmines at around 12 noon to scare away the joint forces who were setting up the camp after it was dismantled earlier, Bankura superintendent of police Vishal Garg said.
    
The security forces retaliated and the encounter lasted till 4 pm, he said, adding there was no immediate report of any casualty.
    
The ultras, however, fled into the Bhalukchera jungle, Garg said.
