Emirates cancels Dubai-bound flight

Emirates flight EK-511 was scheduled to depart at 11 am but the plane could not take off because of the technical fault and later it was cancelled.

About 200 passengers of the Emirates Airlines had to spend over eight hours at the airport here after their Dubai-bound flight was cancelled due to some technical problem in the aircraft.
    
Emirates flight EK-511 was scheduled to depart at 11 am but the plane could not take off because of the technical fault and later it was cancelled, airport sources said. Passengers were deboarded and brought back to the terminal where they had to spend a few more hours. The airlines made some arrangement for the passengers in other flights.
    
"Some of the passengers were accommodated in Emirates flight EK-517 which departed for Dubai around 4.30 pm, while few of them were given seats in the flight EK-515 which is scheduled to take off at 9.05 pm tonight, while the rest would fly in tomorrow morning flight's EK-511," Orhan Abbas, vice president (India and Nepal) of the Emirates, said in a statement.
    
The passengers were provided meals and refreshment and also provided the hotel accommodation in a five-star hotel irrespective of their class of travel, he said.
