Eight police officials removed in Uttarakhand

Dehradun SSP Amit Sinha was among eight police officials removed tonight following the controversy over the killing of an MBA graduate in an alleged fake encounter here on July 3. Sinha, who had been strongly defending the encounter, was attached to the Police Headquarters, Uttarakhand chief minister RP Nishank told reporters here.
       
Apart from Sinha seven other officials including sub-inspector GD Bhatt were also removed and sent to police lines, he said.Bhatt had alleged that the encounter took place after Ranbir Singh snatched his revolver and beat him up in the posh
Dalanwala area.
