Eight agreements signed by Indian, Belgian companies

Companies from India and Belgium today signed eight major agreements to enhance co-operation in growth-oriented sectors like clean energy, consumer technology, tourism, transport and logistics.

The agreements signed are in the sectors of clean energy, consumer technology, tourism, transport and logistics,
a press release issued here stated.

The pacts were signed during the visit of a 340-strong economic mission from Belgium to India, presided over by Prince Philippe and led by its deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and foreign trade, Steven Vanackere.

Prince Philippe is in India from March 22-27, on an official visit on the invitation of India's vice-president, Hamid Ansari.

Videocon Industries signed a joint venture agreement with Enfinity, Bhushan Power and Steel with CMI FPE while L&T signed an exclusive distribution agreement with TeleTask. 

Three Belgian ports--Port of Antwerp, Port of Ghent and Port of Zeebrugge signed Mous with Adani Group's Mundra Port, Abellon CleanEnergy and Mumbai Port Trust, respectively.

An agency agreement was signed between Belgium's Transport Pierret and Vangard Logistics while Mini-Europe and SOTC's Kuoni India also signed an agreement.

"The Indo-Belgian signing ceremonies hold special significance in light of the rapid economic development in India. It clearly indicates the interest and commitment of Belgian companies to work in partnership with its Indian counterparts," Vanackere said.
