BJP leaders' commitment to their party in the form of doing ground work among the masses is said to be rock solid. But of late, leaders in the state unit of the party are engaged in something that aims at helping themselves create a larger image. They are creating their personal websites so that netizens could browse through the web pages to learn about their leaders.

People know about the website of chief minister Narendra Modi. Now other leaders are in race to connect with young netizens through their websites. While party MPs Parshottam Rupala, CR Patil and Jayashree Patel have already got their own websites, senior MP Harin Pathak is getting his site constructed.

BJP ministers Jaynarayan Vyas, Anandi Patel and Dilip Sanghani have got their own websites. Young MLAs like Shankar Chaudhary from Radhanpur and Varsha Doshi from Surendranagar have also got their own websites.

BJP youth cell president Pradipsinh Waghela, youth cell general secretary Harsh Sanghavi, former vice-president of national youth cell Amit Thaker, Vadodara BJP chief Bharat Dangar, and former general secretary of youth BJP Jigar Inamdar are among those who have their websites. "Many BJP leaders are looking for IT experts to create and maintain their websites," said a member of the IT cell of the saffron party. "Construction cost of a website is minimum Rs20,000, the maintenance cost is additional. But the leaders are determined to have new experience of the web world," the source said.  Each leader opts for a specific design and contents. But photos of chief minister Narendra Modi and LK Advani are the common elements found on the websites.

They also share the thought of their life and ideology and commitment to party on the websites.  For example, on the home page of his website, senior minister Dilip Sanghani terms himself as 'Nokhi Matino Manavi' (a man with unique character) and writes a small poem about himself.

Young BJP MLA Varsha Doshi also writes inspirational quotes. She writes: "Be united, be confident; no one can match our entrepreneurship skills. Together we can make a difference."
Rajeeka Kacheria, chief of IT cell of the BJP, said: "We have to run with time and technology and the websites help the leaders connect with the youth who are always busy with their studies and careers. They may not have time to attend public rally but they can always gauge the leaders by surfing their websites." BJP youth cell president Pradipsinh Waghela said, "Website is the proper forum now-a-days. Anybody can approach the leader by a click. Now many people have access to internet.'' Youth leader Amit Thaker said, "I cannot imagine myself without internet connection. I know the importance of it as I can do any work with it within no time. I have been running the website for seven years."
