DJB extends period for availing rebate on payment of dues

In a relief to consumers of certain city colonies, Delhi Jal Board (DJB) today extended deadline for availing the special rebate scheme on payment of outstanding dues to June 30.
   
A DJB official said the consumers will be able to pay their outstanding dues till June 30 and they will continue to get rebate for the interest component on the water and sewer development charges.
   
He said consumers will get rebate of 60% on the interest component of water and sewerage development charges, while 70% rebate on the interest component can be availed if consumers come in a group of 10 or more for payment of the outstanding dues.
   
The above rebate on interest will cover all colonies notified upto December 31, 2010. The DJB has also extended the Amnesty scheme for regularisation of unauthorised water connections till June 30.
