Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said the Janata Darbar were essential in giving his administration an approachable face as well as furthering the cause of good governance.

“The Samajwadi Party has always tried, while in power, that direct contact is made with the public. When the public will meet us and come with their problems, then administrative deficiencies will be identified, which will make it easier for us to run the government. The ‘Janata Darbar’ will be organised, and any measures that can ensure that their work is done will be taken,” Yadav said.

Yadav added that his government would fulfill all the promises made in their manifesto once they present the budget in the state assembly.

“We have to present the budget to you very soon. It will be introduced into the legislative assembly, after which we will start working to fulfill the promises made to the people in our manifesto,” he said.

Akhilesh recently revived the concept of janata darbar, where in he promised to meet the public on weekly basis and try to resolve their grievances.
