Amid reports that he has been rebuked by Congress president Sonia Gandhi for his controversial statement about the denial of burial rights to Osama bin Laden, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Digvijay Singh today said that there were no issues and he was getting along well with the party High Command.
"Nothing of that sort happened. It was just a media creation," Singh told reporters here in the background of reports that he was summoned by Sonia for courting a controversy with his statement in connection with al-Qaeda chief, whom he had referred to as "Osamaji".
"I have never ever received a notice nor faced a disciplinary action in the party," he said.
When asked about disowning of his statement by senior Congress leader Janardhan Dwivedi, the former MP chief minister said in a lighter vein that they both were the disciples of the same political guru Arjun Singh.
In the background of instances where his remarks had caused embarrassment to his party, Singh retorted saying "My statement counts."
Keeping up his tirade against the RSS, the AICC general secretary said, "My point has been proved right. Who are the accused in Malegaon blast."
Singh said he wasn't concerned with notices slapped on him by BJP president Nitin Gadkari and Lawyer Shanti Bhushan.
"I don't even reply to such notices which keep trickling in," he said. "If any one has a problem with me he is free to sue me in court," Singh said adding the RSS had sued him twice for defamation but had to withdraw them.
