The Delhi police is calling some more people for examination in the alleged cash-for-vote scam in 2008.

Home minister P Chidambaram said an FIR has been registered in connection with the case and some people have been examined.

"On the day the debate took place in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, I think the Delhi police said they are calling further people for examination. But the investigation is underway, I have been assured by the commissioner of police that investigation is underway," he told reporters when asked about the progress of the case.

Sources said the Delhi police has started issuing notices to a few persons for questioning.

The action comes following the home ministry asking the Delhi police to speed up the investigation after Siddharth Gautam, a journalist who was CNN-IBN when a sting operation was done during the 2008 trust vote in Lok Sabha, gave a statement to police.

The sources said some others will also be called for questioning.
