Delhi govt writes to Centre on flats for slum dwellers

The construction could not be taken due to certain issues with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) which comes under the administrative control of urban development ministry.

Delhi government today took up with the Centre the issue of delay in construction of flats under in situ relocation of slum dwellers in certain areas in the city.

Delhi labour and industries minister Ramakant Goswami in a letter to Union urban development minister Kamal Nath, has requested him to look into the matter so that construction of the flats can be taken up at Kathputli colony at the earliest.

"The residents are feeling deceived as the promised relocation is still looking illusive," he said in the letter.

The construction could not be taken due to certain issues with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) which comes under the administrative control of urban development ministry.
