Expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order in the city, Delhi BJP today demanded that a concrete action plan should put in place to cut down the crime rate in the national capital.

Delhi BJP chief OP Kohli said it will be a huge embarrassment during next year's Commonwealth Games if police failed to improve the situation.

"The Government must come out with a plan to improve the law and order situation which is deteriorating day-by-day," Kohli said, demanding a concrete action plan.

"The citizens of Delhi can improve their behaviour, but at the same time the government must also put in place a concrete plan to improve the law and order," he said. Kohli also expressed his grave concern over the alleged rape of a young computer teacher by around six unidentified men in west Delhi.

He said few days ago Union home minister P Chidambram had asked the Delhi Police to improve the situation but lamented that no follow up action has been initiated so far.

Kohli also criticised Delhi Government for its tardy preparation for the Commonwealth Games.
