Peroorkkada Sadasivan, CPI-M leader and veteran trade unionist, died here today, party sources said.
Sadasivan (82) had been keeping indifferent health for some time.
For long, he had served as member of the CPI-M's state committee and Thiruvananthapuram district committee.
He was in the forefront several labour struggles in the south Kerala.
In a condolence message, CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said Sadasivan had made significant contributions to the party as well as its trade union wing CITU.
He had played a vital role in organising labourers in different sectors including the loading and unloading workers. His contribution in building the CPI-M as a frontline political force in south Kerala was also great, Vijayan said.
