CPI leader and AITUC All-India general secretary Gurudas Dasgupta, MP, today demanded dismissal of Union minister Shashi Tharoor who is embroiled in a row over IPL Kochi franchisee ownership.

"Tharoor's behaviour is unbecoming of a minister and out of tune with Indian politics," Gupta told reporters in Thrissur.

Hence, prime minister Manmohan Singh should sack Tharoor from the Union Council of Ministers as he has put the country to shame on several occasions, he added.

Seeking a ban on Twenty20 matches in the country, Gupta said Twenty-Twenty IPL cricket was gambling and not a real cricket game.
