Court martial against Army ration scam accused adjourned

The court martial proceeding against SK Sahni, a retired Lieutenant General, indicted in the 'Ration scam', was today adjourned for August 18, an Army spokesperson said.

"The general court martial proceeding against retired Lt Gen SK Sahni at Jalandhar Cant was adjourned today. It will resume on the 18th of this month," Army spokesperson Naresh Vij said.

Sahni has been indicted for his alleged role in irregularities in procuring meat and dry rations for troops in Siachen and other high altitude areas.

A Court of Inquiry constituted in 2005 had recommended disciplinary action against the former Lieutenant General, who retired the following year, in the case.
