Counting today, no re-poll in Padra

Will the BJP sweep the district and taluka panchayat and municipality polls today? Will it wrest control from the Congress in some of them? Or will the Congress retain power in the local bodies where it is in power now?

As all is set for counting of votes on Saturday, these are some of the questions that come to one’s mind.

By afternoon, the fate of 2,074 candidates in district panchayats, 10,489 candidates in taluka panchayats and 5,372 candidates in municipalities will be decided.

If BJP continues its bull run like it  did in the municipal corporation
polls, it will give a phenomenal boost to chief minister Narendra Modi’s ambitions.
