Corporator hacked to death in Tumkur

A corporator of Batawadi area in the city was hacked to death by some unidentified persons here today, the police said.

The man was waiting to cross a railway line in his vehicle at about 7.40am when he was attacked. The assailants smashed the window panes and as he tried to escape, hacked him to death, superintendent of police SP Harsha said.

Anjani was a rowdysheeter and had over 10 cases registered against him, he said, adding that police suspected gang rivalry to be the motive behind the murder.
