Three policemen have been suspended for allegedly thrashing a 70-year-old old man to death in Jayrampur village here, police said today.
    
The police team, comprising a sub-inspector and two constables, had gone to the village yesterday in connection with a dispute case and got hold of Ram Khilavan, father of an accused in the dispute.
    
As Khilavan tried to flee, police caught him and beat him, they said.
    
The old man died on the spot. It also led to tension in the area, police said.
    
Circle officer, Hafizur Rehman said the sub inspector and two constables have been suspended and a case has been registered against them while the police station incharge, Rajesh Kumar Maurya has been sent to lines.
