Congress will not seek advice from CPI(M): Pranab Mukherjee

CPI(M) politburo member Sitaram Yechury had said that Congress might have to "regret" joining hands with Trinamool Congress which is "having links with the Maoists."

The Congress will not learn or seek advice from the CPI(M) in deciding with whom the party would join hands, Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said today.

"We will not take advice from CPI(M) as to with whom we will join hands and with whom not," Mukherjee said here when asked to comment on CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechury's recent statement on Congress' alliance with the Trinamool.

Yechury had said that Congress might have to "regret" joining hands with Trinamool Congress "having links with the Maoists."

"Should we have to learn from CPI(M) what we (Congress) will do and what not?" Mukherjee retorted.
