Congress, TDP, PRP celebrate Independence Day in Andhra Pradesh

The ruling Congress, main opposition TDP, Praja Rajyam and other parties celebrated the Independence Day celebrations in a grand way. 

State Congress D Srinivas hoisted the National Flag at the Gandhi Bhavan, where chief minister K Rosaiah and other senior leaders were present.

All Congress activists and people should support the Central and State Governments in their efforts to maintain peace, law and order and take the country on the path of progress, he said.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu hoisted the National Flag at the NTR Trust Bhavan, the party headquarters, here. 

Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi hoisted the tricolour at the party office. He called for development of all sections of the society.

BJP state unit president G Kishan did the honours at the party office at Nampally, while senior TRS leader N Narasimha Reddy hoisted the party flag at Telangana Bhavan, the party office here.

The Independence Day was celebrated across the state with
ministers hoisting the tricolour in various districts.

Popular Telugu heroine Kajal flagged off a 63 kms cycling event organised by the Atlanta Foundation and Narayana Hrudayalaya to celebrate the 63 years of freedom.

Meanwhile, Independence Day was celebrated here with patriotic fervour. State heavy industries minister K Lakshmi Narayana unfurled the National Flag at the police parade grounds inspected a guard of honour by the police.
