Congress steers clear of reports on Suresh Kalmadi's dementia

Congress on Monday steered clear of reports that party MP Suresh Kalmadi, lodged in Tihar jail for over two months in connection with the multi-crore CWG scam, is suffering from dementia.

"It is a matter before the courts. We do not want to say anything," party spokesman Manish Tewari said.

Dementia is a disease related to memory loss, impaired reasoning and personality changes and reports had it that this may have a bearing on the ongoing trial of the 66-year old MP from Pune.
