Congress leaders met Governor Dr Kamla on Monday and submitted a memorandum over state government's stand on presenting the report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in the assembly. Alleging the BJP government of not wanting a debate over the report, Congress leaders Shaktisinh Gohil, Arjun Modhwadia, Siddharth Patel, Mohansinh Rathwa and Iqbal Patel submitted a memorandum to Governor at the Rajbhavan.

The memorandum contains the summary of concerns raised by the CAG in its last report about state government's possible corruption. Referring to the decisions taken by past speakers of the assembly, Congress has alleged that the state government should table the CAG report at the beginning of the assembly session or within seven days of beginning of the session. Earlier, governments followed this tradition but, the current BJP government is denying the opposition party the opportunity to discuss the CAG report.

They also informed the governor that the ruling party after presenting the CAG report in the assembly on the last day of budget session calls for the next assembly session after six months which is only for two days. As a result, the opposition party has not been given time to discuss the report. Congress has alleged corruption in GSPC, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam, State Civil Supplies Corporation, among others. Opposition has urged Governor to take necessary action.
