Congress leader shot dead by Maoists in Jharkhand

Maoists have shot dead a local Congress leader in Jharkhand's East Singhbum district, the police said today.
   
Half-a-dozen armed Maoists pumped in bullets on Congress' Dalbhumgarh block president Gobardhan Mahali at Majhbhandar village in Ghatsilla sub-division last night, the police said.
   
The incident comes three weeks after the security personnel stepped-up the anti-Maoist operation in Ghatsilla subdivision bordering West Bengal.
