Congress demands discussion on Jatav's murder in MP assembly

Opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh assembly today strongly demanded to take up for discussion the issue of party MLA Makhanlal Jatav, who was killed in Bhind district during campaigning in the recent Lok Sabha polls.

Speaker Ishwar Das Rohani said soon after question hour that the House would take up a discussion on the admissibility of an ajournment motion relating to the blasts at Singrauli on Sunday, but Congress MLAs wanted a discussion on Jatav's murder.

Several Congress members including Govind Singh and Mahendra Singh Kalukheda said that there was no use discussing the Singrauli blasts if the House could not take up Jatav's murder.

Rohani however said that he would not allow a discussion on the killing of Jatav.
