Three CPI(M) supporters were injured when Congress workers allegedly ransacked about 12 houses and three shops of marxist supporters at Bedberia in Nadia district, police said on Saturday.

A group of Congress workers attacked and ransacked about 12 houses and three shops of CPI(M) workers and supporters last night alleging that the police did not take any action against CPI(M) supporters against whom they had lodged a complaint for making bombs, one of which exploded.

Police arrested two Congress supporters Jamal Sekh and Mast Peada . Samsul Islam Molla, CPIM, MLA of Chapra alleged that Congress supporters beat up CPI(M) activists. Ajay Dey, the Nadia Congress leader alleged that CPI(M) activists were making bombs and police remained inactive. So the angry villagers ransacked the houses.
