College clerk arrested while taking bribe in Indore

Rameshwar Chauhan was demanding a bribe from a retired college employee Ramchandra Verma to clear his dues of Rs60,000, sources said.

A clerk of Government Ashtang Aryuvedic College was today caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 by a team of Lokayukta police here, sources said.
   
Rameshwar Chauhan was demanding a bribe from a retired college employee Ramchandra Verma to clear his dues of Rs60,000, they said.

Verma lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta - the Special Police Establishment (SPE)- following which a trap was laid and Chouhan, a clerk with the college's establishment department, was caught red-handed taking the bribe at his office, sources added.

Chauhan has been arrested and booked under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, officials said.
