Chidambaram's cautious take on pictures of victims by Israeli lensman

The Union home minister today said in deference to a request by the Israeli consulate, its photographer was allowed to take pictures of the bodies of blast victims in a mortuary here last night.

Union home minister P Chidambaram today said in deference to a request by the Israeli consulate, its photographer was allowed to take pictures of the bodies of the Pune blast victims in a mortuary here last night.
    
"The request was made for the purpose of identification. I will not comment on whether it was right or wrong," he added in response to a query by journalists who questioned the incident.
    
Earlier, an official of the "Chhabad House", the Jewish Centre situated about 200m from the German bakery blast site had told reporters last night that no Israeli national was found to be among the victims.
