Chhattisgarh CM, governor condole Arjun Singh's death

A three-day state mourning has been declared as mark of respect to the 81-year-old politician who was chief minister of united Madhya Pradesh of which Chhattisgarh was a part till 2000.

Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh and governor Shekhar Dutt have condoled the death of veteran Congress leader Arjun Singh.

A three-day state mourning has been declared as mark of respect to the 81-year-old politician who was chief minister of united Madhya Pradesh of which Chhattisgarh was a part till 2000.

The death of Arjun Singh is an irreparable loss to the country, the governor said in his condolence message, according to official sources.

He was an able administrator and senior politician who served Madhya Pradesh and the Union government in various capacities, Raman Singh said in his message.

Arjun Singh passed away in Delhi on Friday.
