Charge sheet filed against govt official on graft charges

A charge sheet was filed today against a senior government official who was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting bribe last year.

The Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) filed the charge sheet against Sadiq Raina, senior assistant of Zonal Education Office, Kangan, in the court of a special anti-corruption judge, a spokesman of the SVO said.

He claimed Raina was caught red-handed in July last year, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from complainant Mohammad Shafi Rather, a teacher, for preparation of his service book.
