Charas, bhang seized from Kashmir house in anti-drug drive

In its ongoing drive against drug menace, police recovered a large quantity of charas and another narcotic substance in Anantnag district of south Kashmir today.

Police raided the house of one Gul Mohammad Ganai at Laktipora-Arwani, 45 kms from here and recovered 14.5 kgs of
'bhang', a narcotic substance, and 700 grams of charas from
there today, a police spokesman said.

However, no one was arrested in this connection, the spokesman said adding a hunt has been launched to nab the accused.

Police has registered a case under the NDPS Act against the accused.

Yesterday, a youth was arrested from Haridwar area for allegedly smuggling 4.5 kg charas.
