Chandigarh, Haryana receive heavy rainfall

While Gurgaon received 160 mm of rainfall, Rohtak and Bhiwani recorded 2.8 and 1.2 mm respectively. Nangal Dam and its catchment areas received 47 mm of rainfall.

Several parts of Haryana and Chandigarh city received a heavy downpour this afternoon, throwing normal life out of gear.

Though the maximum temperature dropped as a result of the heavy rains, humidity levels increased, the Met office said.

Several places in Chandigarh and areas around it were inundated due to rainwaters, they said.

While Gurgaon received 160 mm of rainfall, Rohtak and Bhiwani recorded 2.8 and 1.2 mm respectively. Nangal Dam and its catchment areas received 47 mm of rainfall, they said.

The met has predicted more rains in the region.
