CBI raids KPT offices again

The central government controlled major port of Kandla saw one more CBI raid on some of its officers in connection with alleged irregularities in allotment of land.

The central government controlled major port of Kandla on Friday saw one more CBI raids on the offices and residence of some of its officers in connection with alleged irregularities in allotment of land to a Kandla-based private company in 1990. The raid was part a series of raids on the top port officials in the past one year on a complaint from the port trust’s former deputy chairman Manoranjan Kumar.

According to sources in the port trust, the raided officials included chief engineer Bhupendra Makawana, former senior estate manager Mohmed Feroz Hussain who is now officiating as deputy secretary, JK Chauhan, assistant estate manger, and KC Vyas, Estate manager.
The CBI team from Gandhinagar and Dehli also conducted raids at the premises of the private party, Friends Oil and Chemcial Terminal.

The sources said that the team after a day long investigation left Gandhidham. There was no official word from the CBI nor the port trust in regard to the raid.
