The senior cops of the Special Investigating Team of Central Bureau of Investigation are all set to devise their strategy for upcoming investigation challenges. The CBI also questioned assistant commissioner of police, KM Vaghela, for the third consecutive day for his alleged role in the confinement of Kausarbi and Sohrabuddin Sheikh.

On one side, while the agency has sought more time from the apex court for the investigation, it is also getting ready to counter the legal battle to be fought in the court of law. Sources said that the CBI, on Monday, will counter Rajendra Jirawala's bail application on Monday and Vaghela's statement is very important for that.

Vaghela is, allegedly, the police official who has been named by Jirawala as the person who took the keys of Arham farmhouse from him. Vaghela was questioned for over three hours by the CBI on Saturday. CBI sleuths, meanwhile, were busy planning their future strategy in Ahmedabad. Sources close to the development said that the CBI sleuths are now spending their time on paper work and getting ready for the legal campaign.

Monday and Tuesday are two crucial days in the court for CBI as on Monday, the hearing of Jirawala's bail is pending while on Tuesday, the CBI is to hand over the copies of charge-sheets to the accused. Meanwhile, the agency had also reportedly asked for three months extension from the Supreme Court. The CBI, which has submitted its interim report to the apex court, also wants an extension and is waiting for a response.

The CBI sleuths may now start their efforts in earnest to corner Amit Shah, either by seeking an extension to question him for more days in Sabarmati Jail, or by seeking his remand from the court.
