The Enforcement Directorate (ED) would question sacked Commonwealth games organising committee chief Suresh Kalmadi next week in Tihar jail as a part of the agency’s probe in money laundering.

After getting permission from a Delhi court, the federal money laundering agency is going to question Kalmadi and his three aides namely Lalit Bhanot, ASV Prasad and Surjit Lal, who are lodged in Tihar jail.

The ED had registered a case against Kalmadi and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) alleging he had played vital role in every financial dealing of the organising committee.

ED had earlier questioned former organising committee director general VK Verma, also named as accused in the CBI’s charge sheet, in connection with a case registered by it.

“We have got permission from the court and by next week, our officers would grill Kalmadi and his aides in Tihar jail. We have earlier summoned Kalmadi in a different case under Fema violations,” a senior official said.
