Gujarat Chief minister Narendra Modi, on occasion of 142nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Sunday, pushed open the doors to Mahatma Smruti Bhavan and Jila Seva Bhavan for the public at Porbandar. He also harped about Centre's prejudice towards development in the state.     

"The state is developing. Centre, rather than competing and spoiling Gujarat's name, should join hands with us for a progressive nation," said Modi. Premtirth, a book by the CM was released in Brail on the occasion. The translation has been done by Mahendra Mehta.  

"Gujarat is very proud of its great son Mahatma Gandhi, who changed the World he lived in. Wish you a very happy Gandhi Jayanti," tweeted Modi.

"Today is the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastriji too, who followed Bapu's ideals and became an inspiration of morals and values in public life," Modi further tweeted. He called onto people to buy Khadi and help bring light to the poor's home this festive season.
