'The trend of some parties branding Hindu outfits as terrorist organisations is a dangerous and unhealthy trend and is purely due to political motives,' RSS general secretary Suresh Joshi told reporters.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday said branding of Hindu outfits as terrorist organisations by some political parties was an 'unhealthy and dangerous trend'.
"The trend of some parties branding Hindu outfits as terrorist organisations is a dangerous and unhealthy trend and is purely due to political motives," RSS general secretary Suresh Joshi told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, RSS' top policy and decision making body.
Joshi said the meet discussed the 'imminent' threat to national security due to China's "expansionist tendency" and opined that there was a need to strengthen the North-Eastern border as also install a strong communication network and transport system.
He said rampant corruption at the level of political leaders, executive and judiciary could be defeated only by mass mobilisation and awareness programmes together with existing movements which address these issues.
Despite these concerns, India was also witnessing some positive trends like people slowly taking to their cultural roots, evident in the recently concluded Sanskrit Book Fair at Bangalore, where four to five lakh people bought books.
He also lauded the trend of Kumba Melas taking place in various parts of the country revolving around the theme of social harmony. "It is a welcome sign," he said.
To a query he said BJP is not a sister organisation of the Sangh and RSS has no wings. But they too have the same ideology and take advice during difficult times. "We always insist that everybody work towards achieving the ideological goal," he said
To another question about a successor to the highest post, he said office bearers of RSS are elected through democratic process.
