If you have packed your woollies thinking you have seen the last of the winters then here is some chilling news. Temperatures are likely to go down in the next two to three days, warns the Met department.

For some days now the city had been witnessing mild winter with most residents not bothering to use their winter wear. But the Met department has cautioned against any 'hasty packing of woollen clothes'.

"In the next two to three days the temperature is likely to go down. The respite from the cold may be short-lived as temperature may also touch 10 degree celsius. We may see a cold wave like condition with chilly winds too," said Kamaljit Ray, director IMD, Gujarat. "The western disturbances have passed. And the northerly winds will lower the temperature," said Ray.

On Monday the city registered a maximum temperature of 28.4 degree celsius and minimum of 11.4 degree celsius. Incidentally it is the lowest minimum temperature recorded for the month of February in the last three years. The lowest minimum temperature recorded for the month of February in 2011 was 12.6 degree celsius. It was 11.6 degree celsius in 2010 and 2009.

"We were wondering were the winter has gone. We had to switch on the fan for the last two days because it was so hot. In fact I have even packed my woollen clothes and will most probably take it out next winters," said Keyur Shah, a resident of Maningar.

Shah said this is for the first time that the weather has turned so hot during the winters.

However, another resident Dipali Amin of Vejalpur said while the days were hot the winter's were cold if not extremely chilly. "It doesn't feel like the winter except for in the evening. During the daytime it is indeed hot and we have to switch on the fan but it is cool in the night," said Amin.
