Telangana Lawyers Joint Action Committee (JAC) has given a call to boycott all court proceedings in Telangana region tomorrow to protest the "attack" on its members allegedly by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists.

A group of pro-Telangana lawyers and activists of the Telugu Desam Party yesterday clashed during the 'Maha Dharna' at Indira Park jointly organised by TDP and Left Parties demanding roll-back of hike in petrol and diesel prices.

Lawyers affiliated to the Telangana Lawyers Forum raised slogans and tried to disrupt the speech of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu asking him to clarify his stand on separate Telangana which led to clashes. However, police intervened and dispersed the clashing groups.

Strongly condemning the incident, a leader of Telangana Lawyers JAC G Rajvardhan Reddy today told PTI, "we have given a call for boycotting of court proceedings in Telangana districts tomorrow. Our demand is that Naidu and his party workers should be immediately arrested for their acts."

Seven lawyers were injured following "attack" by TDP workers and the condition of G Chandrasekhar Reddy, who suffered head injuries is serious, he claimed.

The Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh at its General Body meeting here today passed a resolution condemning the incident. The Bar Council also asked all its members not to participate in dharna and other agitations by wearing by lawyers' robes.
