Given the calm with which he executed the crime in a police station, one would have believed that Sunil Madrasi had come to have a chat with his long lost friends.

Madrasi, a bootlegger and a history-sheeter, coolly walked into the Amraiwadi police station, stabbed a constable and walked away without a care in the world. The incident happened on Friday night and the police finally managed to nab Madrasi on Saturday afternoon.

According to police officials of Amraiwadi police station, on Friday, Madrasi, also known as Machiwala Madrasi, came to the Amraiwadi police station and stabbed police constable Ratansinh Jhala. After entering the station, he approached Jhala and stabbed him in the stomach.

He then walked away while the officials tried to save Jhala. The victim was immediately taken to LG hospital for treatment, where his condition is reported to be stable.  The Amraiwadi police registered a case of attempt to murder against Madrasi.

"Madrasi has a couple of attempt to murder cases, theft and robbery cases registered against him in the Amraiwadi police station. He is a nuisance in the area and was under surveillance.

He was drunk when he came to the police station," said PS Goswami, police inspector of Amraiwadi police station. Goswami said Madrasi was annoyed at being put under surveillance. The Amraiwadi police caught him on Saturday and recovered the weapon.
