The body of 24-year-old K Seshadri Rao, an Indian student from Odisha who was shot dead on April 19 at Boston, arrived here this evening.

Rao, a native of Jeypore town in Odisha's Koraput district, was a student at Boston University's Graduate School of Management. He was shot in the head and leg in the early hours of April 19.

Rao's father K Sudhkar Rao and his mother K Vijaylaxmi, who had been camping at the state capital since morning, were taken to the airport by the state government.

The body was handed over to them, an official said.

"Rao's body would be cremated at Swargadwar at Puri," family sources said.

The 24-year-old student's death was a mystery for many in the state as he was killed apparently without any specific reason. "My son was a brilliant student. I suspect he become victim of the jealousy of others," Sudhakar Rao said.

However, the parents expressed displeasure at getting the body of their son five days after his killing. "We seek punishment for the culprits involved in the crime," Sudhkar Rao said.
