The question that every Amdavadi is asking is, how come people are dying in new areas three days after the killer hooch claimed its first victims? It is difficult to believe this but the reason for this is that the 6,000-man-strong Ahmedabad police force has not been able to trace the exact route taken by the toxic hooch to arrive in the city.

The city police are still struggling to find out how, beginning Sunday, the killer country liquor managed to travel from one bootlegger to another to reach Ahmedabad (and, God forbid, other unknown destinations). The hooch continues to claim new victims because no one knows in which places the toxic liquor was distributed.

The police have raided more than 600 country liquor dens in Ahmedabad since the tragedy struck, but they have failed to track down the exact route the killer hooch took to reach the city.

The first victims of the killer hooch were reported from Majoorgaam under Kagdapith police station on Monday and Tuesday.

On Wednesday, many had died of hooch poisoning in Odhav, Bhaipura and Amraivadi. And, on Thursday, the toxic liquor killed more people in Bapunagar, Naroda, Sarkhej, Rakhial, Ramol and Asarwa. While the reach of the killer hooch continues to grow, the police have no idea which new localities will be its next victims.
